Weeds appearing on artificial turf grass mostly come from seeds settling on the surfaces.  With a bit of moisture, most seeds will germinate and produce volunteer “weeds”.  Seeds can fly in from any where / if you see weeds and grass growth in your existing gardens, deco rock, bark mulch, pavers, concrete & asphalt you will see it on the artificial turf grass, over time.

Weeds are easy to control on your artificial turf grass with safe & effective natural solutions.

Safer than applying chemical* sprays, the following recipe is a common solution used by organic gardeners & farmers as a pre and post emergent.

*(Always do a test on an area of your turf when using chemicals on artificial turf grass)

Apply in fall and spring, or as needed. Germinated growth may take from 4 to 48 hours to die – then materials can be removed with a rake or leaf blower, for best results.

• Tools
  Measuring cup
  1+ gallon garden sprayer
• Recipe
  1 gallon of apple cider vinegar (full strength)
  2 cups of epson salts
  ¼ cup of dish soap (NOT recommended on turf*)
• Add the ACV into the pressure sprayer, add the Epson salts and shake to mix. Once the Epson salts are dissolved, add the ¼ cup of dish soap.

*The dish soap is used to help the solution stick to rocks, pavers and materials such as mulch -we do NOT recommend adding the dish soap and applying to the artificial grass surfaces as it will coat the blades and may leave a film you will then want to rinse off.
